Maryland in the Fall


Summer may be winding down but that doesn’t mean you need to! There are few things as beautiful as Maryland in the Fall and there are countless events happen all across our beautiful state to keep you and your family entertained.  

National Aquarium 
Home of more than 15,000 creatures, the Aquarium is the heart of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. At the National Aquarium you can watch a dolphin show, walk through the depths of the shark den, and even walk through a sea of exotic plants as birds and other wildlife roam free around you! It’s the perfect activity for a rainy day! 

Edgar Allen Poe Festival & Awards 
On October 2nd and 3rd, 2021 Marylander’s can attend a FREE two-day outdoor event filled with performances, art, and food inspired by Baltimore’s legendary author Edgar Allen Poe. This festival is a can’t-miss-event for Edgar Allen Poe fans and literature fans alike. 

Fells Point Fun Festival
If Edgar Allen Poe isn’t your thing, you can attend the Fell’s Point Fun Festival just down the street! Fell’s Point Fun Festival was originally started in 1967 to raise money to fight against a project that would have demolished a large portion of Fell’s Point and has grown to cover 3 city blocks right in historic Fell’s Point. At the Fun Festival you’ll find food, art, local crafts, photography, clothing, jewelry, and live music from Grammy nominated artists like Eli Young Band and Spin Doctors! 

Maryland Corn Maze 
If your family is looking for a good time away from the crowds there is no place like the Maryland Corn Maze! Located in Gambrills, MD this 8-acre corn maze has been operating since 2006! The yearly event has hayrides, giant Lincoln logs, pedal carts and more! This event is perfect for all day family fun.

The Nevermore Haunt 
This event is NOT for the faint of heart! Held in the heart of Baltimore, attendees of The Nevermore Haunt get to through Baltimore’s scariest haunted house but that’s not all this event has! The Nevermore Haunt has over-the-top sideshow performances, on-site concessions, and an on-site bar so you can take the edge off with some of the area’s best local brews. 

Maryland Science Center
Located in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, the Maryland Science Center aims to build a foundation for lifelong learning for all that visit. From astronomy to electricity, their ever-changing events and exhibits will keep your family on their toes with curious excitement.  

Port Discovery
Not far from the Maryland Science Center you can find Baltimore’s Port Discovery Children’s Museum! Ranked among the best Children’s museums in all of the Mid Atlantic, Port Discovery aims to provide a safe environment for children to learn the best way possible…. through play! Complete with a massive indoor jungle-gym, your child can see an interactive show, explore their art, and even play musical performances! 

Maryland Zoo
The Maryland Zoo’s mission of “engaging people with the wonder of the living world through personal encounters that foster lifelong harmonious relationships with nature.” can be felt everywhere in the park. Events like their Penguin Fish Toss and their Giraffe Feeding Station are sure to give your family a once in a lifetime experience that they’ll never forget. 

The Maryland Renaissance Festival
Maryland’s notorious Renaissance Festival is loved by Marylander’s of all ages! With actors and events all around, this beautiful wooded town will transport you back to 1534. Attendees of this incredible event can find incredible hand-crafted gifts, see Maryland’s State Sport of Jousting, watch amazing performances and much more!
