The Water’s Art Gallery is located in the heart of Mt. Vernon and is sure to offer you something captivating from the past. Their gallery is free for general admission. Currently, they have three exhibitions going on: Gold of the Ancient Americas, Rinehart’s Studio: Rough Stone to Living Marble, and From Rye to Raphael: The Walters Story. The third exhibition actually tells the story of how the Walters Art Gallery came to be with some of their most gorgeous and memorable pieces.

The American Visionary Art Museum is another wonderful gallery located in the downtown area. . This modern gallery is the sponsor for the Kinetic Sculpture Race, an annual race where people construct magnificent sculptures that must traverse Baltimore. The gallery itself is home to contemporary art and admission is $15.95 for adults, $13.95 for seniors, and $9.95 for students/children.

Finally, the Baltimore Museum of Art offers another free option to avid art lovers everywhere. They have a ton of different collections including European, African, Contemporary, Asian, and American sections. They also have something called “The Cone Collection” that features Matisse, Picasso, Pissarro, Courbet, and Degas. From the historic, to the daring there is a lot of art to enjoy in Baltimore.
